Product Sync

Open Dermaself → Product Sync. This is where you send your catalog to Dermaself so the Skin Test can recommend your products. Without a sync there is nothing to recommend.

Sync in one click

Standard WooCommerce fields are read automatically: name, price, description, image, product URL. For most stores that is all it takes.

  1. Under Bulk sync, check Total published products.
  2. Click Sync All Products. The plugin queues every published product that is not already queued.
  3. The worker processes them in the background, 20 per minute. You can close the page.

During the sync Dermaself assigns each product a category (cleanser, serum, sunscreen…) and normalizes its ingredients.

Queue status

The Queue status table shows how many products are:

StatusMeaning
PendingQueued, not sent yet
ProcessingBeing worked on now
DoneSent and classified
FailedDid not go through

If there are jobs in Failed, click Retry failed jobs to queue them again.

After the first sync

You do not need to run it after every change: when you create or update a product in WooCommerce, the plugin queues it again on its own. A product moved to the trash is removed from Dermaself.

Run Sync All Products again after a bulk import or after changing the field mapping.

INCI: where to put it

Skin matching reads each product’s composition (INCI). Without INCI a product takes a weaker part in the matching.

In the WooCommerce product editor there is a Dermaself — Recommendation fields box:

  • Composition (INCI) — the full ingredient list.
  • Brand — falls back to the Brands taxonomy when empty.
  • Cosmetic effects and Skin type — leave empty to let the AI infer them.
  • Category / module override — leave empty to let the classifier assign one.
  • Directions for use and Info — Info falls back to the short description when empty.

If you import products from CSV, INCI goes in the Meta: _dermaself_composition column.

If INCI (or any other value) already lives in a field of yours, you do not need to copy it: use the mapping below.

Field mapping (advanced)

The Field mapping (advanced) section is open by default, at the bottom of the page. It is only needed when a value lives somewhere non-standard: an EAN in a custom field, a brand in a taxonomy, INCI in an attribute.

  1. In the Dermaself field column find the value (for example Composition (INCI) or EAN / barcode).
  2. In WooCommerce source choose where to read it from. Sources are grouped into Native fields, Custom fields, Taxonomies, and Attributes.
  3. Click Save mapping.
  4. Run Sync All Products again so the new mapping also applies to products already sent.

Anything left on — Not mapped — keeps using the standard source. Fields marked AI can infer can stay empty.

Next step: check the categories.
